I was so excited to go out to Marvin Key with Megan and Josh for their Key West engagement session! I met Josh a year ago while swordfishing with a local guide, and then went out fishing with him and Megan a few weeks later. They are a fun loving couple, who love the water and fishing like me. So it is fitting that we did the shoot on one of the backcountry islands of the Florida Keys.
I drove up to Cudjoe Key to meet Megan and Josh at sunrise. I was welcomed with the same happiness as always by Juneau, the wonderdog. We boarded the boat and headed north through the channels to Marvin Key. For me this is the best way to have a Key West engagement session. On the beach and in the morning. It was early in the morning so the wildlife was waking up as well, and the morning burn of the clouds was happening. We entered the channels and scouted a few areas of Marvin Key, before we anchored.
Josh and Megan are totally naturals—the way they hold hands, the way they smile at each other, the way they hug! The whole time we walked/ran around island and the beach, it was obvious to me that they weren’t seeing anything around them but each other, and I did my best to capture that look of pure love.
It was amazing to me to be witness to their love in the warm morning light of Marvin Key. With a beautiful beach (with the best sand in the world) and mother nature—the backdrop just paled in comparison to the way these two looked at each other. After the serious images, Megan pulled out a surprise, and the whole day became colorful!
Thank you Megan and Josh for getting up early in the morning, and making the trip out to the island. It was totally worth it and a great engagement session!
