2017 was UNREAL. If I had to just describe it in one word, it would be epic. I have photographed some amazing weddings this year, in some absolutely gorgeous locations. Mainly in Key West, but also weddings in Washington DC and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
I have genuinely lost count of all the genuine, super, lovely people I have met this year at some of the 37 weddings I photographed. I can say that I finally felt like a destination wedding photographer. There have been some amazing memories made and some gorgeous pictures captured as a result. Getting to meet so many lovely people is the biggest part of my job. You become part of the family, you gain lasting friendships, and you see the fruition of new families. There is nothing else quite like it.
When I look back at the year, many things happened. I dealt with hurricanes, plane flights being cancelled, and trying to fit everyone into my schedule. I was lucky enough to be flown to Washington DC, and shoot at the famous Cosmos Club. I was given the honor of being an award winning destination wedding photographer. Quite a few of my weddings were published, some multiple times. I was accepted into the curated collection of photographers called Fearless Photographers. I worked with some of the industry heavyweights like Ken Pak. I could go on and on and brag, but just being able to call myself a destination wedding photographer is enough to brag about.
I’m extremely lucky to say that 2018 is already filling up fast with wedding bookings (including some really exciting ones in Captiva Island, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Ohio). I have started to branch out, and truly become a destination wedding photographer. Couples all over the East Coast are starting to find me, and asking me to come to weddings in New York, Connecticut, Washington DC, and even Colorado! Creating imagery that is unique and representative of the couple and their destination is what I am about. If you are still considering having me as your photographer then shoot me a message! I’d love to hear from you. Lets have an adventurous destination wedding together!
So, without further ado, I just want to say thank you SO much to every couple who allowed me to photograph their wedding this year, every lovely person I met along the way and everyone taking the time to read my long winded posts! Heres to 2018, and the new adventures ahead of me as a destination wedding photographer.
