Michelle and Michael’s Crest Pavilion wedding in Asheville, North Carolina

Michelle and Michael have a group of friends and family that really love to have a good time and LAUGH!  From stories of Michelle’s long days after a night of fun, to the mischievous nature Michael showcased in college and to this day.  This day unfolded so well, and was so much fun.

We started the weekend off with a welcome dinner for family and wedding party at Twisted Laurel’s upstairs event space in Downtown Asheville.  One of my go to places in the Asheville area to get food, but this was the first time in the upstairs venue space and it’s perfect for any welcome party or small reception.

Wedding Day in Asheville NC

On wedding day, Michelle and Michael both found spacious Airbnb’s here in Asheville that allowed them to get ready, but relax while doing it.  Michelle’s rental had a cute little cottage in the background with mountain views of Weaverville.  It also had a picture perfect swing in the front yard that we used for portraits.  Michael got ready at vacation rental in downtown Asheville, which had an epic mural and was great for some added backdrop, texture, and compositions.

Many times you will see this with the bride and groom for an Asheville wedding. There are a plethora of Airbnb’s here in Asheville North Carolina. Many of them are conveniently located to the downtown Asheville area, which keeps you very close to the wedding venue when organizing transportation. Many of them are located in downtown Asheville, or within 5 miles of the Crest Center.

Crest Center and Pavilion Wedding Venue in Asheville NC

The wedding ceremony and reception both took place at the Crest Center and Pavilion which sits on Crest Mountain.  It has a back overlook deck that is perfect for a Blue Ridge Mountains sunset, and then a field out front that overlooks downtown Asheville North Carolina. It’s one of the venues I am a preferred vendor at, and you can read more about it here on my wedding venue guide.

The wedding venue at Crest Center and Pavilion is just the way you need things. Outdoor ceremony location with an awe inspiring view of the blue ridge mountains. The indoor spaces of this beautiful venue allow you to produce any reception worthy of the title dream wedding. No need to hire a caterer or bar staff, because that is offered in house. All the culinary delights prepared, with friendly and professional staff on hand.

The indoors of the Crest Pavilion has a rustic elegant indoor vibe that you dont always find here in western north carolina on wedding day. Thankfully Asheville wedding couples have the Crest Center and Pavilion for a wedding ceremony. The Crest Pavilion is also located just 10 minutes from downtown Asheville.

Blue Ridge Mountains wedding ceremony

The wedding ceremony was performed by Michelle’s brother and every daughters dream of having her dad walk her down the aisle was definitely emotional. This was one of my first crest weddings, and it started off beautifully. Phenomenal things happen when you can hide tears with sweat, and mother nature made sure to make that easy. The wedding was under a bluebird day sky and bright sun. Who knew the were going to have the most beautiful sunset with how the weather started out on wedding day. We hung out back on the overlook deck and grab a lot of wedding guests portraits. When you have a wedding sunset that good, you dont let it sneak by.

Crest Pavilion Wedding Reception

The wedding reception was non-stop dancing.  Michelle and Michael said that would happen, but as many times in weddings, I didn’t think it would pan out.  I was wrong!!!  3 hours of packed dance floor action!  The main hall of the Crest Pavilion is what draws a lot of bride and groom’s to the wedding venue. The overlook deck has breath taking views, but the inside has space and endless ideas to produce an amazing event. You can decorate in some much detail that its impossible to even list this. Your reception will be great at the Crest Pavilion, and it even has a stage for the band!

The couple ended the night with a bubble send off (aka a NEW FAV) and narrowly escaped being decimated by bubbles from Michael’s father.  He wanted to make sure the bubbles left with them too!

Dream wedding vendors for your Asheville wedding

Wedding venue referrals are the best kind of referral for any Asheville wedding. When you are a preferred vendor of a wedding venue, that ads some rapport instantly with the inquiring couple. Thankfully the Crest Center refers me as one of their wedding venue preferred wedding photographers for your Asheville wedding. It’s a great wedding venue to witness a beautiful sunset, with an outdoor wedding ceremony location, with a backdrop of the Blue Ridge mountains while also being on a mountaintop overlooking downtown Asheville for your Asheville wedding. It was a pleasure working with everyone.  Please enjoy this brief look into this memorable Asheville wedding at Crest Pavilion in Western North Carolina.

Documentary Photographer in North Carolina

When you’re planning your wedding, one of the most important decisions you’ll make is who to hire as your photographer.

If you’re looking for someone who can capture the spirit of your day, then a documentary photographer (hey, that’s me!) is there to capture the entire feeling of the wedding day.

While of course there are some posed photos (because there’s no way I’m not doing some killer portraits with that view) the focus is on you and your family and all the love and emotion of the day.
