Key West wedding photographers are a very lucky group of people. We are afforded the luxury of the amazing backdrop of the Florida Keys and Key West to use for our composition. Key West wedding photographers seem to consider ourselves destination wedding photographers, with a majority of our couples traveling to the Florida Keys and Key West for their wedding. Although many come from out of town, you also get lucky as a Key West wedding photographer when you get to photograph another locals wedding. You are able to become part of the planning process, you get to know the couple, and its easier to set yourself apart from other Key West wedding photographers.
Wendy and Michael decided to have their celebration at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden. Tucked away on Stock Island this gem is a massive property for a Key West Wedding. There is a separate ceremony area from the reception, which leaves you quite a bit of room to let your mind run wild. Key West wedding photographers many times have limited space to work with, which challenges your creative eye. You want to get images unique to the day, but also you don’t want the same image as another Key West wedding photographer has taken at the same venue.
Wendy took the reigns on this wedding. She was the wedding vendor, spending tons of time before the wedding to create the DIY elements for her day. She was the florist, the designer, and used Pinterest and Instagram for a lot of inspiration, and then added her own personal flair. It was a beautiful setup for her day, even though high winds made us move the set up last minute. Little did we know that due to the change in reception location at the gardens, we would be graced with the intimate setting that happened. Congratulations to Wendy & Michael and we hope you enjoy a sneak peek into their day and all of her hard work.
