Immerse yourself in the picturesque wonder of Twickenham House, an enchanting wedding venue nestled in the heart of Jefferson, NC. This exquisite location, with its awe-inspiring mountain views, offers an unrivaled backdrop for weddings, turning every moment into a captivating visual narrative.

As a seasoned wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless heartfelt moments against this stunning panorama. One such memory that stands out is of a couple standing hand-in-hand, their love as vast and profound as the mountains surrounding them. Their joy was palpable, their smiles as bright as the golden sunset that bathed the Twickenham House.

Another wedding at this idyllic location was a testament to the tranquility it offers. The couple exchanged vows under a blanket of stars, the twinkling lights reflecting in their teary eyes, creating an atmosphere of pure magic.

Photographing weddings at Twickenham House is always a unique experience. The tranquil ambiance, the breathtaking views, and the timeless elegance of the venue add an unforgettable charm to every photograph captured.

As a wedding photographer, my goal is not just to document the events of the day but to encapsulate the essence of your love story. Every smile, every tear, every loving glance exchanged – these are the moments that transform a wedding from an event into a cherished memory. At Twickenham House, these moments come alive, allowing me to create an authentic representation of your love, forever etched in time.

A wedding celebration in the mountains of North Carolina is the start of many incredible love stories. The couple finds this fantastic spot that would make any day phenomenal. It’s just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and any wedding photographer would be happy with the spectacular mountain views it offers as a backdrop for the ceremony site. This was a primary focus of the wedding planning process for Maggie and Tate.

Twickenham House Hall weddings in the Blue Ridge Mountains

The wedding day took place at Twickenham House in Western North Carolina. Its an absolutely amazing wedding venue. Its a 2-2.5 hour drive from Winston Salem and Charlotte.  For me it was not really on my radar until we talked about it during the wedding planning process. Im a wedding photographer based in Asheville NC, so most of my photography services are in Asheville and Charlotte. I was excited. It was also the perfect amount of time for a few podcasts and some stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the drive over.

Twickenham House is a breathtaking wedding venue nestled in the North Carolina high country. Offering 400 pristine acres of beauty, this venue is known for its stunning mountain views and classic European-inspired architecture. A beautifully manicured lawn surrounds the Twickenham House, providing a spectacular backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions.

The venue exudes an Old English charm, making it one of the most sought-after destination wedding venues in the region. Its rustic ambiance coupled with the scenic mountain views creates a unique and romantic setting that is perfect for any couple’s special day.

One of the standout features of Twickenham House is its versatility. It can cater to both grand and intimate weddings, adjusting to the specific needs and preferences of the couple. The venue is also praised for its excellent service, ensuring that every wedding held at Twickenham House is a memorable event.

The day began with Maggie surrounded by her family and bridesmaids. Laughter and joy filled the room while the abundance of natural light in the space made capturing emotion filled images of their love story stress free.

Outside the spacious guest cottage doors, the stone entry beautifully framed Maggie, and the light was exactly what you crave. Top notch textures that an English manor boasts, a legendary estate, and a special day filled with special moments. You could feel the energy switch as this new chapter of their love story was written. I loved working with the textures of Twickenham House, both inside and out. The Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance, create a majestic backdrop, and the lighting is perfect.

Wedding Ceremonies at Twickenham House

Their ceremony, hosted on a cliff overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, was cinematic. The blue skies stretched out in every direction as their uncle, who also had done work in my own grandmother’s Church in South Carolina, proudly did the honors.

From the guests coming up the winding path to the altar to the moment Tate saw Maggie on her father’s arm, this whole ceremony was about not only their deep connection, but that of their family and friends all there to support them as they said, “I do”

Tate’s choice of a royal blue suit mixed well with the evening light’s warmth and created just the perfect amount of pop for their mountain wedding photography. The park like grounds of Twickenham house plus the spectacular mountain views of the blue ridge mountains, made this wedding celebration truly special and full of special moments. The high country wedding vibes were flowing. A timeless collection of wedding details combined to tell a love story.

After the absolutely amazing ceremony

After the ceremony we sent the guests down towards the beautifully manicured lawn and reception cottage for cocktail hour. We took the couple into the cliff area just adjacent to the wedding ceremony site. The sun coming over the ridge line from my high vantage point was absolutely amazing. A true private sanctuary in nature for wedding photographers. I wish I had amazing couples who get married in amazing places every weekend. A legendary estate that an English manor boasts. Yep I said it again haha!

The love story continued during the reception. Friends and family told stories that made us laugh, but everyone just wanted to dance. In my experience, couples with a great vibe almost always have a wedding party who creates an incredible atmosphere on the dancefloor.

Maggie & Tate’s friends and family did not disappoint in this department. Everyone embraced wearing their custom wedding day facemasks (thank you for thinking of others!), and it made for some one of a kind reception moments.

The evening came to a close with a fabulous sparkler exit, set against the twinkle lights of Twickenham House. What an honor to photograph this wedding. It felt like family, a homecoming and work all wrapped into one!
