Tampa Garden Club Wedding – Marrissa & John

Keywords: bride, groom

Marrissa and John’s romantic Tampa Garden Club wedding featured a classic theme with a cream, navy and pink color palette.

Their wedding design was romantic, natural, and classic. Marrissa was shooting for a rustic and boho wedding, and incorporated many details and colors from John’s current service in the United States Coast Guard.

This Tampa bride and groom wanted to ensure that their guests were happily fed so they pulled out all the stops and had Mission BBQ cater their wedding.  They had a craft cocktail bar provided by Spunky Spirits, and good music to dance to provided by Fast Breaks Executive Entertainment.

When I asked her about what to consider for her wedding, Marrissa said “I like both traditional and documentary images. I don’t want any photos to look too posed, but I also don’t want them all to be completely candid. I definitely want some direction so that everyone looks their best! I just want the day to really be captured through all the pictures. I want a lot of photos of me and the John. We have been through so much together between multiple deployments, long distance and moving together & we are very happy to finally be getting married so I just want that feeling captured.“

We used the grounds of the Tampa Garden Club for their couples photos, as well as the waterfront walkway on Bayshore Boulevard.  The waterfront allowed me to use a lot of symmetrical lines to create a large environmental portrait of the two.  The grounds of the Tampa Garden club was perfect for this wedding couple.  There was patches of sunlight sneaking through the palms and we were able to use those to create some stunning wedding portraits of the couple.

Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments included the first look. Marrissa had the best man dress up in a T-Rex outfit and surprise John.  It was definitely a funny moment, and I had a really hard time staying composed.  There is just something hilarious about a 8ft tall bobblehead T-Rex trying to eat the groom for lunch.  John loved it and could barely hold it together himself.  Please enjoy this look into Marrissa and John’s Tampa Garden Club Wedding
