When you’re hiring a wedding photographer, you may have to decide if you want a pre-wedding engagement session. It’s a personal preference, and about 50% of my couples choose to do one. But how do you decide if it’s right for you? Here are some common reasons my couples opt for an engagement shoot with me. Don’t miss out on capturing these special memories!
Out of all your wedding vendors, your photographer is the one who will be with you all day long – from the pre-wedding preparations to the final send-off. That’s why it’s important for us to get to know each other beforehand. And what better way to do that than with an engagement session?
I like to make our engagement sessions more than just simple posing in front of a camera. Let’s pick an activity that suits you both! Skiing? Sure. Hiking a trail? Definitely. Exploring Asheville or another city? Let’s do it. Into sports or breweries? Bring it on!
It’s all about spending quality time together and getting to know each other better – something that will make your wedding day so much more relaxing and enjoyable.
Are you nervous about having your photo taken on your wedding day? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! But hey, practice makes perfect. That’s why engagement sessions are the perfect opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera. Imagine a low-pressure shoot with no time crunch, picked at a location that you feel comfortable in, and wearing something that you love. It’s like a rehearsal for the real thing! So, why not give it a try? Trust us, getting used to being in the spotlight will make your wedding day photos a breeze.
Do you love being outdoors but hate the thought of holding a selfie stick while hiking? Do you cringe at the idea of handing your phone over to a stranger and hoping for a decent photo? Look no further than engagement photos to save the day! Couples often tell me that these shoots are the perfect solution for capturing stunning photos without looking like an influencer wannabe on the trail or in public spaces. Say goodbye to awkward selfies and hello to picture-perfect memories!
Are you looking to add some sophistication to your design? Opt for an elegant font with a clean and simple design. However, if you plan on using an image, make sure it’s a high-quality one, not just a blurry cell phone picture. Your design will thank you for it!
Say “I do” in style: Asheville’s wedding scene has it all
Asheville, North Carolina boasts three distinct wedding vibes: mountain, vineyard, and urban. And with its thriving small city vibe, proximity to Charlotte and Atlanta close by, but most importantly the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains and Pisgah Forest, it’s no surprise.
But here’s the catch: when planning your wedding in Asheville, you typically have to choose just one vibe. So, if you opt for a downtown Asheville ceremony, consider a scenic mountain engagement session to mix it up. And vice versa.
By exploring multiple locations, you’ll get the best of both worlds and create a truly memorable experience for you and your partner.
Are you ready for a unique couples photo session that’s anything but average? AWESOME, because I’ve got a whole list of alternative session ideas that will make your pictures stand out. No more boring poses in fields – let’s get creative! From heart-pumping experiences like roller coasters and board sports to Cross-fit and more, you name it and I’m up for it. That’s who I am – Michael Freas.
Still not sure if you want an engagement session? You and your fiancé are the ultimate decision-makers, but there are plenty of good reasons to include it in your wedding photography package. Check out some of my past sessions to get a better idea of what I like to do.
