Fall Engagement Session on the Blue Ridge Parkway: Graveyard Fields

Growing up in the North Carolina mountains, fall was always a big part of my families year.  We would always take a weekend, usually after church on a Sunday, and head up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We would drive many miles in amazement of the fall colors, while my father sat in the front seat yelling at all the slow cars with Florida license plates.

Never did I think that I would be a wedding photographer doing the same thing with my couples almost 30 years later.

Jordan and Chris are getting married at The Ridge Asheville next year, but decided to come up from Florida and spend some time shooting with me prior to the wedding.  It was a great way to get to know the two of them, and get comfortable in front of the camera.

In the weeks prior I kept hiking each day waiting on the color to pop, while finding secret pockets of autumn goodness.  We spent the afternoon running around an area called Graveyard Fields, until the afternoon fog rolled in.  We then headed up even higher for some moody photos in the fog!

Cant wait for their fall wedding next year here in Asheville, NC.
