Being a wedding photographer in North Carolina allows me to connect with wonderful couples from all over, and Shea and Faurest are no exception. When Shea initially contacted me about their visit to Asheville, I was thrilled to hear about her vision for their engagement photos. They were looking for authentic, heartfelt moments rather than staged and overly posed shots—a philosophy that resonated with me.
From our first phone conversation, it was clear that Shea and Faurest were genuinely invested in capturing their one-of-a-kind bond. We chatted effortlessly about architecture, life, and their journey together, instantly creating a comfortable rapport that would be instrumental as we embarked on this photographic adventure.
The Biltmore Estate, with its breathtaking landscapes and timeless charm, served as our backdrop. As we strolled through the idyllic gardens, Shea and Faurest’s love for each other was palpable in every interaction. Their chemistry made it effortless to capture moments of pure, unfiltered joy—the kind that can’t be replicated.
One of the session’s highlights was ending the day at Diana Hill. Faurest shared a fond childhood memory of rolling down hills, a playful activity we decided to incorporate into the shoot. Seeing them let loose and enjoy this simple pleasure was incredibly heartwarming and resulted in some of my favorite photos from the day.
This engagement session was a reflection of the power of genuine connections and the significance of capturing moments that truly reflect a couple’s essence. I’m eagerly anticipating the opportunity to document Shea and Faurest’s wedding, where we’ll continue the journey of immortalizing their beautiful love story.
Meeting couples like Shea and Faurest—and being able to contribute to their story through my lens—is a privilege I deeply cherish. Here’s to many more memories and photos that will stand the test of time.
