Brianna and Mark’s Florida Keys wedding started with preparing for their day with their wedding party and closest family. Brianna had paid close attention to the details providing the party with matching robes in pinks and blues, giving the moments of joy and excitement the right pop of color. The train on her mermaid-style gown was KILLER!
Under a canopy of palm trees, I captured the moment Brianna walked down the brick path, and Mark turned to see his almost-wife for the first time. This is exactly the kind of photojournalism I love to do at an event.
The white sand set against radiant blue skies set a fantastic stage for their wedding ceremony. A simple wood altar adorned with flowers, their ceremony was personal and filled with real moments of devotion and laughter. Their personalities jump out of every frame, giving you a real insight into the emotion enjoyed by family and friends gathered to witness their vows.
One of the many perks of a Florida Keys beach wedding is that nearly every portrait is surrounded by natural beauty, but it can be too easy to fall back on that when it comes to wedding photography. I’m always aiming to make something unique.
With the 7 Mile Bridge stretching out underneath a horizon of blue skies that meet the waters’ edge, that was the ticket.
This was truly a reception to remember, with the bride’s father engaging the crowd and a round of hilarious, emotional antics. He was fantastic, can he come to every wedding I shoot?!
Then, under the chandeliers and custom lighting, Brianna, Mark, and almost every guest in attendance took to the dance floor.
This super fun group partied so hard it felt like no one wanted to leave the fun, which I think is how every wedding couple hopes their wedding reception will be. From the flurry of hand-jives and raising-the-roof dancing, this wedding was certainly the stuff any Florida Keys wedding photographer is stoked by.
