One of the few advantages of so many of my couples having to reschedule and reconfigure their 2020 weddings, thanks to Covid, was that I had the opportunity to get to know Melissa and Joe for nearly two years before they finally had the Key West Wedding of their dreams with their friends and family in attendance at the Southernmost Beach Resort.
These two know how to throw a party, and it was evident that every single person at this wedding was so pumped to be there. What a difference that makes in photos! It seemed that people were celebrating, laughing, and cheering everywhere I looked..this was definitely a wedding where everyone had their heart on their sleeve, and photographing that vibe makes me want to say it again; best job in the world.
The energy was high; the winds were crazy! The ocean was smashing up onto the seawall, not something we see a lot in Key West unless there is a hurricane. Maybe it was the hurricane of their love?
At any rate, we managed to find some shelter for some family portraits before heading into the ceremony, filled with laughter and tears and mentions of professional wrestling. Yes, they had it all.
The day ended with what I can only describe as an epic shower of champagne to celebrate a wedding that was well worth the wait. Cheers to you guys!
