Key West and The Florida Keys Best Wedding Photos of 2018

2018…. If I had to just describe it in one word, it would be HARDWORK.  It was a year of transition, change, and rewards.  From feeling the actual economic effects from a hurricane, a year prior, to traveling the world and learning more about my personal journey within photography.  I cried, I sweated, I learned, I progressed.

It was a record year for me as a Florida Keys wedding photographer.  I captured 52 different couples stories.  I watched 12 couples become engaged.  64 different events all centered around one word: LOVE.  There have been some amazing memories made and some gorgeous pictures captured as a result. Spending the amount of time, you do with the couples and families, you become part of the family. There is nothing else quite like it.

When I look back at the year, many things happened.  Plane flights being cancelled, and trying to fit everyone into my schedule.  I was lucky enough to attend my first FEARLESS PHOTOGRAPHERS conference.  I was published in Rangefinder Magazine. I was accepted into the curated collections of ISPWPThis Is Reportage, Junebug Weddings and Wedding Photojournalism Association.  I expanded into new states and markets. I started shooting Real Moments and Reportage (Photojournalism) Wedding Photography.

I visited Cuba and the Philippines.  I checked two items off my bucket list.  Smoking a Cigar in Cuba, and surfing the Philippines.  Two life changing trips that I wish I could just repeat over and over and over again.  Actually I think I am going to do it all over again this summer!

I’m extremely lucky to say that 2019 is already filling up fast with wedding bookings (including some really exciting ones in Miami, Steamboat Springs, Tulum and ITALY!!!). I have started to branch out, and become a travel wedding photographer.  Couples all over the East Coast are starting to find me, and asking me to come to weddings in New York, Connecticut, Washington DC, and even Colorado!  Creating imagery that is unique and representative of the couple and their day is what I am about.  If you are considering having me as your photographer, then shoot me a message! I’d love to hear from you.  Let’s have an adventurous wedding together!

It’s been incredibly hard to pick out my ‘best of’ images from this year. There have been so many images captured, that it’s been hard to choose; but these are my personal best. I do honestly feel so honored to do this job and have so many fun and creative couples.  The feeling of a couple trusting me to photograph the best day of their lives, is what keeps me going.

So, without further ado, I just want to say thank you SO much to every couple who allowed me to photograph their wedding this year, every lovely person I met along the way and everyone taking the time to read my long-winded posts!  Here’s to 2019, and the new adventures ahead in wedding photography.
